Anduril

Builds AI-driven defense and autonomous systems, including surveillance towers and drones, to enhance national security and military capabilities.

Associate Director of Finance, Special Projects

Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century's most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Anduril's family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center. As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years.

About The Job

Anduril's Finance team is looking for a highly strategic and experienced finance leader to drive growth through critical strategic initiatives across our organization. This role will lead the financial planning, analysis, structuring, and funding of complex, non-routine project finance initiatives, and drive them from inception to execution.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong blend of financial acumen, capital markets expertise, and strategic thinking. This individual should thrive in ambiguity, be a self-starter and a problem solver. Experience in structuring and executing complex financing deals or dedicated project finance environments is essential. This candidate should be comfortable being an individual contributor to projects, leading large cross-functional teams, presenting analyses to senior executives and interacting externally with customers, investors or other stakeholders.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and execute financing strategies for critical projects, leveraging deep knowledge of debt, equity, and alternative capital markets. This includes structuring project finance arrangements, engaging with financial institutions and investment banks relating to project funding.
  • Own projects end-to-end, from definition, solution, to implementation. You will be handed ambiguous, messy problems with little prescription on how to solve them.
  • Execute scrappy analyses on short timelines to get answers quickly, while also owning more scalable solutions that will make Anduril successful in the long term
  • Project manage across many stakeholders. If you don't like being the person leading meetings with large groups of people or managing large Slack channels to wrangle stakeholders towards a solution, this may not be the role for you
  • Work across functions and learn Anduril's business top-to-bottom. You will interact with Finance, Growth, Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, HR, Recruiting, and more
  • Own detailed financial models end-to-end, from on-the-ground gathering of data, through creating materials, to presenting them to stakeholders

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in management consulting, investment banking, private equity or similar, with direct project finance transaction experience.
  • Strong analytical aptitude - you intuitively think about problems in terms of numbers. You are able to quickly execute analyses in Excel. You have an ability to quantify complex and often ambiguous problems. You are willing to learn how to use corporate systems (e.g. Salesforce, Anaplan, Oracle) and analytic / dashboarding tools (e.g. Palantir Foundry)
  • Intellectually curious - you seek to understand the why behind the numbers.
  • Highly technical - you have a strong understanding of financial and accounting concepts, and you value precision and accuracy when it comes to your work.
  • Critical thinker - you consider problems from all angles to remove bias.
  • Results-oriented - you will do whatever it takes to get the job done.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills. You drive consensus through grounded arguments, interpersonal skills, and negotiation skills.
  • Creative problem-solver - able to identify obstacles and present viable solutions.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment.
  • Excited by large breadth of problems.
  • Confidence to execute in highly visible and accountable positions.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must be security clearance eligible.
