About The Job

We are looking for an ATP Technician Specialist to join our rapidly growing team in Costa Mesa, CA. In this role, you will be responsible for meticulously performing Acceptance Test Procedures (ATPs) on highly complex, mission-critical products, sub-assemblies, and components, ensuring that all items meet rigorous quality, performance, and functional requirements specific to the Roadrunner Program. You will operate specialized test equipment and software, often running on Linux-based systems, to validate product integrity. This will require a strong ability to read, understand, and meticulously follow complex engineering documentation, along with basic proficiency in Linux environments. If you are someone who demonstrates exceptional attention to detail, a methodical approach, and a strong commitment to quality and compliance within a highly regulated manufacturing and test environment, then this role is for you. This position also requires flexibility to travel approximately 50% of the time (about one week on and one week off).

What You'll Do

  • Perform routine and specified Acceptance Test Procedures (ATPs) on advanced electro-mechanical, optical, or software-driven systems.
  • Operate, calibrate, and monitor various specialized test equipment, fixtures, and tools, including executing ATPs via command-line interface or custom applications on Linux platforms.
  • Accurately and completely record all test results, observations, and data in designated documentation systems, ensuring traceability and compliance.
  • Clearly document and report any non-conforming products, test failures, or out-of-tolerance conditions to engineering, quality, and leadership.
  • Adhere strictly to all quality management system requirements, safety protocols, and company policies, including maintaining confidentiality relevant to the Roadrunner Program.
  • Perform intermediate troubleshooting and initial fault isolation of test failures under guidance.
  • Collaborate effectively with engineering, production, and quality assurance teams to ensure seamless product flow and resolution of test anomalies.
  • Contribute to team knowledge by assisting in the training or mentorship of new technicians as needed.
  • Maintain constant awareness and strict compliance with all relevant ITAR regulations, export control policies, and program-specific security protocol

Required Qualifications

  • Strong ability to read, understand, and meticulously follow complex engineering drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and detailed test procedures.
  • Intermediate proficiency with various test and measurement equipment (e.g., digital multimeters, power supplies, oscilloscopes) or a strong aptitude to learn.
  • Basic computer literacy, including navigation, file management, and executing pre-defined commands/scripts within a Linux (Ubuntu) environment.
  • Ability to operate precision hand tools and basic mechanical/electrical assembly tools.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a methodical, organized approach to tasks.
  • High degree of integrity, professionalism, and accountability, especially when handling critical data and products.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for clear technical reporting and team collaboration.
  • Ability to frequently lift, carry, or otherwise move objects weighing up to 30 pounds (e.g., equipment, supplies, products), with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% as needed.
  • Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export controlled information or facilities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience working in an AS9100 or other defense/aerospace certified quality system.
  • Familiarity with Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) protocols and cleanroom procedures.
  • Basic understanding of IPC standards (e.g., IPC-610, J-STD-001).
  • Prior experience with data acquisition software or test automation systems.
