Taipei, Taiwan
In your role as a Mission Operations Deployment Lead on the Maritime team, you are Anduril's presence on the ground in Taiwan. You are responsible for delivering, sustaining, and growing a deployed maritime defense capability that meets out customers's mission requirements and exceeds their expectations. You fulfill this responsibility through rigorous operational execution, cultural fluency, and proactive communication across the time zone difference between the USA and Taiwan. You feel ownership over all assets and technologies deployed to your customer, and ensure that the system of systems are deployed to where they need it most. You represent Anduril to our in-country partners, including military counterparts, local US forces, and INDOPACOM stakeholders, to build their confidence and trust through your professionalism, reliability, and commitment to excellence. You also represent our customers back to Anduril, communicating user feedback, operational lessons, and evolving requirements to continuously improve our product. You bridge cultures, time zones, and ways of working with judgment, autonomy, and initiative that operating a half day ahead of your home office demands.
Deployment planning and execution: Orchestrate deployment events including site installations, test and evaluation exercises, demonstrations, maintenance visits, and training engagements in Taiwan. Lead cross-functional coordination spanning hardware supply, international logistics, engineering, and export and import compliance to achieve mission success. Operate with a high degree of autonomy given the time zone offset, exercising extraordinary judgment in high-pressure situations. Anticipate contingencies, navigate in-country logistics challenges, and build lightweight processes that account for local regulatory and customs requirements.
In-country relationship management: Serve as Anduril's primary face to our military partners and representatives. Build trust through cultural fluency, consistent follow-through, and clear communication in both Mandarin and English. Develop relationships across military, diplomatic, and industry organizations in-country. Understand your counterparts' priorities, constraints, and ways of working. Communicate honestly and directly across cultures. Ensure partners always know what to expect from Anduril, and that Anduril always knows what's happening on the ground.
Developing mission expertise: Develop deep knowledge of the customer's mission requirements, including the maritime threat environment, regional defense posture, rules of engagement, regulatory constraints, and resource limitations. Become a subject matter expert and the voice of the customer, capable of translating operational needs and CONOPS into actionable requirements for Anduril engineers. Stay current on the evolving security environment in the Indo-Pacific and how it shapes customer priorities.
Developing product expertise: Develop a thorough understanding of the capabilities and limitations of Anduril's maritime family of systems. Become a power user who can reliably forecast system performance across a range of threat profiles, environmental conditions, and operational constraints. Educate yourself continuously on sensor modalities, underwater acoustics, networking, and autonomy so you can troubleshoot, train users, and provide credible technical guidance in the field.
Communicate across time zones: Serve as the critical bridge between the in-country operation and Anduril's US-based engineering and program teams. Provide daily situational awareness, proactively flag issues, and ensure nothing falls through the cracks due to the time zone gap. Translate what's happening on the ground into clear, actionable information for teams waking up 12 hours later. Set the pace and standard for the deployment without waiting for direction from the other side of the world.
