The focus of the Anduril Mission Systems Division is to develop, produce and deploy best-in-class sensors and mission-enabling payloads for superior battlespace awareness across all relevant domains, platforms and missions.
About The Job
As the Mission Systems Head of Operations, you will work for the Mission Systems Division leader as a member of the division leadership team and you will drive and scale business operations for the division and its business lines (Battlespace Awareness, Electromagnetic Warfare, and Imaging). You will manage a team including directors of operations for business lines and a small division office operations team to help manage business, production and development operations. You will partner with the division leadership team, business line general managers and other leads, as well as other core internal operations teams (finance, people, recruiting, corporate operations, real estate, etc.). In your role, you will confront operational execution and scaling challenges and develop lasting, scalable solutions. Your work will vary from building and redesigning operational processes to unlock scalability, to leading high-impact strategic projects to confront unexpected new issues and crises with responsive collaborative solutions.
What You'll Do
- Drive day-to-day business operations and execution of strategic projects for the division. This would include financial tracking, staffing/hiring, corporate governance, etc. and working with cross functional partners across these domains. Specific examples include:
- Manage Division P&L operational plans in partnership with the Division Leader and FP&A partner to track financial health of the division against goals, drive actions to maintain operating expenses with budget, assess financial data and create strategies to drive toward margin targets, etc.
- Drive content preparation for Division Monthly Business Reviews and Quarterly Business Reviews for presentation to Anduril Executives
- Engage with business line general managers, engineering leads, and/or product and program managers to track and report out status and risks across the division
- Drive the annual planning process for the division as part of the corporate planning cycle.
- Facilitate staffing and hiring across the division and work with recruiting leads to ensure sufficient recruiting resources to support division scaling.
- Work with corporate technology to build the underlying data and system infrastructure for organizational operations - Confluence spaces, Jira systems, data drives, etc.
- Manage division communications internal to the team and external across the company, such as All Hands, etc.
- Manage planning and strategy for division real estate/facilities, secured spaces, and capital investment
- Partner with the Division Lead and other Division office leads on internal division strategy, including division organizational structure, key initiatives, and investments.
- Develop and execute on internal division operational processes (historic examples include managing business line operating plans and P&Ls, production demand planning processes, etc.)
- Own and execute on special projects for the Mission Systems Division - Examples could include supporting acquisition integrations, working with the business line heads of production on strategies to reduce production variance costs or reduce product unit costs, collaborating with general managers on org development strategies, completing strategic assessments and studies for the division.
- Manage the Mission Systems Division Operations team (Currently ~6 FTEs) of division operations staff and business line operations leads/directors.
Required Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in an engineering major.
- 10+ years of working experience with minimum 2+ years in a technical engineering role to understand engineering development and 5+ years in a consulting, operations, finance, product/program management, or business role (You have a business foundation and can understand how a P&L works).
- A strong communicator with ability to translate and articulate thoughts clearly and simply across a wide range of roles (working level engineers, finance partners, recruiters, cross functional leadership, and executives).
- Experience interfacing with leadership and executives - you understand how to cultivate trust and facilitate meetings for and engage with executives.
- Strong emotional intelligence and ability to solve operational problems not only from a data driven lens, but also in a people-centric way by building strong cross functional relationships across the company and within the hardware engineering organization.
- Combination ability to execute on a tactical level as well as put together a strategy to solve complex, ambiguous, cross-functional problems. You are comfortable rolling up your sleeves and diving deep into executing operational tasks that require high attention to detail and high organization skills, but you can also zoom out at a 30,000 foot level to create a strategy that solves high level problems for the business line, division, and company.
- High ownership with the horsepower to juggle multiple (3-5+) large projects and priorities in parallel, at a rapid pace, and report out on progress regularly without dropping any balls.

US Salary Range $254,000 - $336,000 USD
