About The Team
Anduril is fielding the next generation of Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs) to tackle the extremely challenging industry demands of seabed exploration. Anduril has brought to the market a unique, ultra-long-range, full-ocean-depth platform, and a completely refreshed maritime vehicle and flexible manufacturing architecture that scales from "large" to "extra-large" vehicle sizes. Today, Anduril is executing on multi-million-dollar contracts while simultaneously performing Robot-as-a-Service (RaaS) AUV operations. About The Job
We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our rapidly growing team in Quincy, MA. In this role, you will be responsible for the manufacturing process of US Maritime primary energetic payloads intended for cutting-edge Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs). You will own Design for Manufacturability (DFM), tool design & selection, process creation & optimization, supplier capability, quality planning, and work documentation.
What You'll Do
- Drive the NPI manufacturing development process for a suite of Maritime munition products
- Closely collaborate with energetics and product engineering teams to drive DFX into munition system design (including sensors, payload interfaces, electronics, fuses, and effectors)
- Develop and optimize end-to-end production processes to achieve capacity, reliability, and safety targets
- Oversee explosive and subsea service providers on outsourced assembly/test operations
- Own the generation and refinement of associative BOP, MBOMs, MES Routings, and Work Instructions
- Project manage production milestones including test validation, equipment bring up, delivery, and sustainment
- Employ LEAN manufacturing and statistical methods to improve production processes and eliminate defects
- Own key initiatives related to energetic payload programs through full product lifecycle
- Frequent coordination between EHS, Quality, Logistics, Supply Chain, and Deployment teams to achieve production goals
- Create control plans based upon up-to-date DFMEA and PFMEAs
Required Qualifications
- BS or higher degree in electrical, mechanical, aerospace, or another engineering discipline
- 2+ years of experience in a relevant field, preferably manufacturing or design of electromechanical hardware
- Demonstrated ability to creatively deliver electromechanical hardware in a fast-paced environment
- A strong passion for manufacturing and extremely mission driven
- Ability to travel domestically up to 50% of the time
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in maritime robotics (AUVs, UUVs, USVs, subsea sensors)
- Familiarity with MIL-STD-1316, MIL-STD-882E, MIL-STD-1905, MIL-STD-2105
- Test experience including data acquisition, data analysis, and project coordination
- Experience with pressure vessels and/or industrial pressure test equipment
- Prior experience working with JIRA, Siemens NX, Teamcenter (PLM), or Oracle (ERP)
- Experience with explosive operations and/or handling munitions
- Experience with the DoD Weapons Safety Boards
- Familiarity with standard interfaces such as Ethernet, CAN, I2C, SPI, PCIe, USB, etc.
- Familiarity with common MCU, CPU, FPGA devices and technologies
- Knowledge of modern analog and digital electronics and electronic circuits
US Salary Range: $129,000 - $171,000 USD
