✨ About The Role
- Responsible for the physical design of unmanned aircraft and related hardware systems, optimizing system designs to maximize performance against desired metrics
- Involved in all levels of product maturity, from initial concept to manufacturing, including design, analysis, prototyping, flight testing, and manufacturing
- Contribute to and lead a team environment on the design, fabrication, prototyping, and flight testing of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles and launch systems
- Perform component and assembly-level design and prototyping, system and sub-system design, modeling, and prototyping, and production drawings applying GD&T
- Review and approve designs, analyses, and engineering drawings, ensuring compliance with industry standards and requirements
âš¡ Requirements
- Experienced mechanical engineer with at least 5 years in the defense, national security, or aerospace domain, preferably with a focus on unmanned aircraft design
- Proficient in 3D CAD design, structural analysis, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME standards
- Skilled in leading projects from development through manufacturing and sustainment, with experience in DOD product certification efforts
- Strong background in design or analysis of aerospace structures or subsystems, with a track record of leading engineering product teams
- US Person Status required, with the ability to establish and leverage relationships with production and procurement teams
