About The Job

We are seeking a Software Engineer focused on AI to join our rapidly growing team in Reston, Virginia. In this role, you will design, develop, and deploy innovative AI-driven solutions that directly impact critical projects. You will work on cutting-edge technologies in artificial intelligence and machine learning, as well as collaborating with cross-functional teams to solve complex problems in a fast-paced and mission-driven environment. What You'll Do

• Contribute to ongoing efforts to fine-tune LLMs for improved performance in simulation script generation and multi-modal input handling
• Lead efforts to integrate cutting-edge AI capabilities—leveraging both open-source technologies and in-house developments—to solve complex program challenges
• Architect, deploy, and optimize ML systems, focusing on efficient inference, robust model management, and reliable performance across production environments
• Work alongside full-stack developers, product managers, hardware engineers, and subject matter experts to transform mission requirements into scalable AI solutions
• Fine-tune models and deployment pipelines to balance latency, throughput, and resource efficiency in real-world applications
• Continuously assess and integrate state-of-the-art AI frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, vLLM) and methodologies that drive industry innovation

Required Qualifications

• Strong engineering background from industry or school, ideally in areas/fields such as Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics
• 2+ years of experience with Python development and deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch and TensorFlow
• Linux Development Experience
• Demonstrated ability in deploying, serving, and tuning ML models to meet strict operational requirements.
• Familiarity with full-stack development to facilitate smooth integration of AI capabilities into larger systems.
• Strong interpersonal skills with experience working cross-functionally with stakeholders and executive leadership.
• Currently possesses and is able to maintain an active U.S. Secret clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience working with LLMs, understanding their unique challenges and deployment considerations.
• Familiarity with end-to-end AI workflows that span from research prototyping to production-level deployments.

US Salary Range

$129,000 - $171,000 USD

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations. Highly competitive equity grants are included in the majority of full time offers; and are considered part of Anduril's total compensation package.
