Anduril

Builds AI-driven defense and autonomous systems, including surveillance towers and drones, to enhance national security and military capabilities.

Staff Product Manager

Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century's most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Anduril's family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center. As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Define the "What, Why, and For Whom" for our core tech hardware products: Across multiple core hardware subsystems, you will help develop the long-term vision, strategy, and roadmap for these critical components that empower Anduril's broader product portfolio.
  • Develop multi-product roadmap and strategic direction: Develop and maintain strategic roadmaps for several distinct core hardware technologies. This requires a deep understanding of the diverse and often varying needs of multiple internal product teams, synthesizing these inputs into a cohesive and impactful product definition that serves the broader company strategy, aligning with long-term growth objectives.
  • Synthesize diverse internal customer needs into unified product definitions: Act as the primary interface to Anduril's product teams (your customers), proactively engaging to understand their upcoming needs, operational contexts, and pain points. You will identify common underlying requirements and recommend degree of standardizatoin vs. new variants that accelerate development cycles and enhance capabilities across multiple programs.
  • Drive product definition and requirements for complex hardware: Translate strategic objectives and customer needs (both current internal and potential external) into detailed Product Requirements Documents (PRDs), including performance specifications, mechanical and electrical interfaces, environmental requirements, and key performance indicators. You'll work hand-in-hand with engineering to define architectures that balance innovation, manufacturability, cost, reliability, and scalability.
  • Prioritize and manage trade-offs for long-term impact and growth: Evaluate new hardware opportunities, technology advancements, and customer requests. Prioritize features and initiatives based on strategic impact, technical feasibility, cost-effectiveness, design for manufacturability (DFM/DFA), and overall value to Anduril's product ecosystem, always with an eye towards expanding market fit and growth potential.
  • Accelerate internal adoption and identify new customer fit: Proactively engage with various Anduril product teams to understand their upcoming needs, demonstrate the value of existing core hardware offerings, and identify opportunities for increased adoption and integration across new platforms, driving greater internal leverage of our hardware investments.
  • Drive new core hardware product development and business cases: Identify critical unmet needs and strategic white space across Anduril's product ecosystem. Lead the charge on new core hardware developments, including demand aggregation, defining internal total addressable market (TAM), developing robust business cases and ROI analyses, and authoring comprehensive PRDs and product definitions from inception to launch.
  • Explore and capture external market opportunities: Assess the viability and potential for extending existing core hardware products or developing new ones for external customers. This involves conducting market research, competitive analysis, engaging with potential external customers, and collaborating closely with Business Units to identify key opportunities and strategic partnerships.
  • Pursue strategic funding through government RFPs and alternative sources: Proactively identify and evaluate relevant government RFPs, grants, or other alternative funding opportunities that align with our core hardware capabilities and strategic roadmap. Work closely with capture management, and engineering teams to develop compelling technical and business proposals and secure non-dilutive capital.
  • Communicate strategic vision and technical capabilities: Articulate and champion the product vision, strategy, and value proposition of your core hardware subsystems to internal stakeholders, engineering leadership, and consuming product teams. Manage expectations, identify key risks and dependencies, and ensure clear communication regarding capabilities, integration pathways, and future development across all internal and external engagements.

Expected to work closely with key partners including, but not limited to: The Engineering Leads and Technical Program Managers (TPMs) for each consuming product, hardware engineering (mechanical, electrical, firmware), supply chain, manufacturing, test engineering, system architects, various internal Business Units (e.g., Maritime, Air Dominance and Strike) REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 7+ years in product management or a similar role with a primary focus on physical hardware products or integrated electro-mechanical systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to define and drive the product strategy and roadmap for multiple distinct hardware components or subsystems, serving diverse internal and external customer needs.
  • Proven experience in identifying new market opportunities, performing demand aggregation, conducting TAM analysis, and developing comprehensive business cases and ROI analyses for new hardware product initiatives.
  • Exceptional ability to synthesize diverse, sometimes conflicting, customer requirements (internal and external) into a cohesive, impactful, and well-defined hardware product definition.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex hardware concepts, architectural decisions, and product trade-offs to technical, business, and leadership audiences.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience using data, customer feedback, and technical insights to inform hardware product decisions, prioritization, and long-term strategic planning.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience using CAD models, physical prototypes, detailed system diagrams, and other visual tools to effectively communicate complex hardware concepts and system architectures.
  • Deep technical understanding of hardware design principles (e.g., mechanical, electrical, thermal), manufacturing processes (e.g., CNC machining, additive manufacturing, injection molding, PCB fabrication), test and validation methodologies, and supply chain complexities inherent in physical products.
  • Direct experience in a business development, market analysis, or strategic planning role within a hardware-focused company, especially in defense or aerospace.
  • Familiarity with government contracting processes, RFP response mechanisms, and understanding of defense acquisition lifecycles.
  • Hands-on experience defining requirements for and working with engineering teams on specific hardware domains such as custom sensors, embedded compute platforms, or advanced actuation systems.
  • Familiarity with hardware-software co-design, firmware development processes, and the integration challenges of bringing complex electro-mechanical systems to life.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, highly collaborative defense or aerospace engineering environment with iterative hardware development cycles.
