Embedded Engineering Intern

As an Embedded Engineering Intern for production tests, you will contribute to manufacturing high quality products. You will gain exposure to Auterion's full technology stack while focusing on test stand software. You will ensure that our hardware products work reliably before they are shipped to customers and are integrated in complex systems. You will work closely with software engineers, hardware experts and other external partners. You will have many opportunities to learn, grow your skillset and take ownership of your tasks in a young, dynamic company.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Implement and extend end-of-line (EOL) test sequences for embedded products (bring-up, flashing, calibration, functional tests, burn-in).
  • Build host-side Python tooling for test orchestration, result parsing, and database/traceability (e.g., serials, MACs, calibration data) with Python and C++.
  • Plan and set up the hardware of test stands and integrate it with electrical interfaces.
  • Design test hardware and software while ensuring highest reliability and maximum throughput at the same time for various interfaces, for example UART, I2C, SPI, USB, HDMI, CSI MIPI.
  • Integrate test stands with reporting & metrics generation to monitor efficiency and availability as well as database dashboard design.
  • Write clear procedures and lightweight documentation for operators and technicians.
  • Collaborate with HW/FW/Manufacturing to debug failures and improve yields.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Studying towards (in the final two semesters) or have already completed a Master's degree in engineering, computer science, robotics or a related field.
  • Proven software development experience with Python.
  • Fundamental understanding of Linux and microcontroller development and debugging.
  • Experience with communication protocols like TCP/UDP.
  • Basic knowledge of Linux, and interacting with it using a terminal.
  • Ability to understand basic electronic concepts by reading schematics.
  • Understanding of software testing methodology.
  • Familiarity with some of the following: Git, Docker and Pytest.
  • Preferred: 3D design and printing experience.
  • Preferred: PCB design experience.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • You maintain and expect a very high quality of work
