Senior Product Manager | Autonomous Mining Operations

The Mission: Avathon is a leading provider of Industrial AI software that enables autonomous operations in asset-intensive industries. Avathon is revolutionizing the mining industry by combining industrial AI with specialized Mining solutions. Our goal is to transform traditional, siloed mining operations into a seamless, autonomous ecosystem.

As a Senior Product Manager, you shall work at the intersection of heavy engineering Mining Operations and cutting-edge AI systems, designing the platform that orchestrates everything from the pit to the port. As a Product Manager you understand the business implications that a 1% optimization in a processing plant or a 5-minute reduction in haulage downtime can translate to millions of dollars and significantly safer environments.

What You'll Do:

• Architect the Roadmap: Define the end-to-end product strategy for our autonomous operations platform, covering Mining, Processing, Supply Chain, and Safety.
• Bridge the Gap: Translate complex mining workflows into feature specifications for our software and AI engineering teams.
• Drive AI Integration: Identify high-value use cases for Machine Learning and AI, such as predictive maintenance for autonomous fleets, automated safety monitoring.
• Stakeholder Orchestration: Work closely with global leadership and site-level operators to ensure the product solves real-world bottlenecks.
• Prioritize with Precision: Manage a high-stakes backlog, balancing long-term platform stability with immediate operational "wins."

Who You Are:

The Core Essentials:

• Mining Pedigree: A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mining Engineering or a closely related field.
• Product Mastery: 5+ years of experience in Product Management, specifically within industrial automation, IoT, or heavy industries / manufacturing, Oil & Gas
• Knowledge: You have a deep understanding of the mining value chain—you can be versatile with Mining modeling and supply chain logistics on the other hand.
• Tech-Forward: You understand how to apply AI technologies to physical systems, telemetry data, and predictive analytics.

Bonus Points if:

• You have worked directly for a global mining major
• You have experience with autonomous haulage systems (AHS) or remote operations centers (ROC).
• You have a knack for turning "messy" field data into clean, actionable product insights.
