Position Summary:

We are looking for a resilient, high-energy, experienced Senior CAD Technician to join Axiom's Lunar Terrain Vehicle (LTV) program in support of NASA's LTV Services (LTVS) contract in partnership with Astrolab. This role requires strong problem solving, organizational, time management, and communication skills. Experience in Extravehicular Activities (EVA) and Extravehicular Robotics (EVR) operations and hardware is desired.

Employment in this role is contingent on Astrolab/Axiom being selected as a winner of NASA's LTVS contract award.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Preparing and modifying 2D and 3D drawings using CAD software, mainly SolidWorks.
  • Translating conceptual sketches, layouts, and design notes into accurate technical drawings.
  • Maintaining drawing files, project folders, and version control in accordance with company standards.
  • Reviewing and checking drawings for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to client and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinating with engineers, architects, and project managers to resolve design discrepancies.
  • Assisting in preparing construction and fabrication documents, bills of materials, and as-built drawings.
  • Supporting digital modeling and design visualization for proposals and client presentations.
  • Performing additional job duties as assigned.

Education & Experience:

  • Associate degree or certification in Drafting, CAD Technology, Aerospace Engineering Technology, or related field (Bachelor's degree preferred)
  • 5-10 years of experience as CAD technician or drafter in aerospace, defense or precision mechanical design environment
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks
  • Familiarity with 3D modeling, design standards, and file management systems
  • Strong understanding of geometric tolerancing, dimensioning, and drawing conventions.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.

Work Environment:

Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.

Requirements:

  • Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
  • Management has the prerogative to select at any level for which the position is advertised.
  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position.
  • Must be willing to work evenings and weekends as needed to meet critical project milestones.

Physical Requirements:
