Business Operations Leader

We're a fast-moving team of aviators, engineers, and operators building an AI platform to make flying safer, more efficient, and more capable. Backed by top investors, we've secured a dozen Department of Defense contracts and partnered with major airlines to deliver mission-critical systems. We operate without silos or heavy processes. Small, focused teams own what they build, ship quickly, and learn fast, pushing the boundaries of how humans and AI work together in aviation.

We're looking for a Business Operations leader who can operate across strategy and execution. This is a high-trust role: you will help drive company priorities, keep complex efforts moving, and raise the quality bar on how we communicate and operate. You will work directly with leadership and partner closely with engineering, product, and external stakeholders.

This role is ideal for someone who is sharp, driven, comfortable in ambiguity, and excited to build the operating system of a fast-moving company.

What You'll Do

• Drive critical initiatives end-to-end: define the plan, align stakeholders, manage execution, and ensure outcomes.
• Company strategy support: build crisp analyses, frame decisions, and help leadership prioritize and communicate direction. Partnerships and external relationships: support deal conversations, coordinate cross-functional follow-through, and help structure/track partnerships.
• Legal and contracts support: manage contract workflows, coordinate with counsel, and keep terms, timelines, and stakeholders organized (not acting as the attorney, but making the process efficient and correct).
• Team building and special projects: help stand up new functions and processes, support hiring efforts, and lead "whatever it takes" projects that unblock the team. Operations and facilities: help ensure the office and day-to-day business operations run smoothly as we scale.
• Executive communication: create high-quality decks, memos, and briefings for internal and external audiences.

What We're Looking For

• You're a high-horsepower operator who can lead discussions, run a workstream, and bring structure to messy problems.
• Excellent communicator (written and verbal). You can turn complex topics into clear, compelling storylines.
• You can produce high-quality presentations quickly, and you care about polish and accuracy.
• You're comfortable shifting between high-level strategy and hands-on execution.
• You build trust across functions, keep momentum, and know when to pull in experts to move faster.

Ideal Background (Not Required)

We're open-minded on exact paths, but this role often fits candidates with some combination of:

• Military leadership experience
• Top-tier MBA
• MBB or similar consulting background
• Experience in defense, aerospace, aviation, or other high-stakes operational environments

Bonus Points

• You've lived through at least one "pls fix" slide-fix chapter and came out stronger.
• Prior security clearance or experience working in cleared environments.

Work Location: This is a hybrid role based in San Carlos, CA, with 3+ days per week onsite and the option to work remotely on remaining days.
