Senior Manufacturing Engineer

BlueHalo, an AV company, is looking for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join the Kinetic Effector team. The Senior Manufacturing Engineering role will work across a broad range of disciplines with a focus in two areas: providing manufacturing perspective and expertise to product development and system integration, and designing, refining, and implementing additional manufacturing capability.

Responsibilities include Design for Manufacturability, manufacturing process design and optimization, tool selection, supply chain management, quality control, documentation, and risk management.

You'd like to do this:

• Lead Design for Manufacturability to optimize per unit cost, inform system complexity decisions, identify materials and vendors, standardize tools/processes, etc.
• Develop factory layouts, product workflow planning and materials handling equipment selection, manufacturing standards and guidance for system design
• Develop, integrate and review technical artifacts in support of the manufacturing process.
• Represent BlueHalo (now an AV Company) and program interests with senior customer counterparts, internal senior program management and engineering leadership
• Direct and lead a diverse team of multi-disciplined engineers in support of missile development and manufacture.
• Work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Provide mentoring, guidance and direction to junior engineers
• Design, test, and/or integration of mechanical components, mechanical ground support equipment (EGSE), subsystems, or system-of-systems
• Perform, oversee and coordinate all aspects of kinetic system mechanical design
• Ensure quality of mechanical designs and implementation.
• Support trade studies to evaluate alternative design solutions to resolve potential manufacturing issues
• Identify risks and opportunities associated with or driven by manufacturing requirements and mitigate to reduce risk or realize opportunities.
• Technically engage with major subcontractors and partners to ensure product manufacturability
• Participate in internal design reviews, and support major customer reviews
• Assist with program schedule creation and hardware development planning
• Develop labor and material estimates

Qualifications: You must have a Secret level security clearance, or be willing to obtain and maintain a Secret level security clearance. Have a B.S. with 11+ years of prior relevant experience in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline. Prior experience with leading and conducting Design for Manufacturability studies. Experience leading and executing the design and development of manufacturing workflow, processes, and systems. Experience developing effective internal and external customer relationships to ensure customer satisfaction and continued business. Experience managing resources with multi-million-dollar annual budgets. Direct experience with Engineering Risks and Opportunities (R&O) Management. Are willing and able to travel to attend meetings or tests at other government and contractor sites.

Preferred Qualifications: Have an advanced degree in Business (e.g., MBA), Business Data Analytics (e.g. MBAn) or Management (e.g., MiM). Prior missile or rocket manufacturing experience. Experience with environmental testing, i.e., shock, vibration, temperature/altitude, environmental stress screening (ESS). Design verification test planning and fixture design or field-testing experience. Experience with Cameo, Creo, ProEngineer, SolidWorks
