Blue Origin Operations Job Opportunity

At Blue Origin, we envision millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. We're working to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion. Join our team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight!

This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.

We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Passion for our mission and vision is required!

You will be the foundation of our quality system—ensuring every component meets the stringent cleanliness requirements for bi-propellant rocket propulsion hardware. You'll learn aerospace manufacturing from the ground up, with direct exposure to hardware builds, inspection methods, and test operations. This role offers a clear path to advance your technical skills and grow into valve assembly, test operations, and advanced manufacturing roles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute precision cleaning procedures for aerospace components to liquid/gaseous oxygen (LOX/GOX) compatibility standards using aqueous cleaning, solvent cleaning, and passivation processes
  • Maintain strict contamination control and conduct visual inspection of cleaned components to ensure cleanliness standards are met
  • Perform component part marking using laser engraving, dot peening, and stamping methods
  • Prepare hardware kits for assembly operations and support build prep activities including hardware staging, tooling preparation, and workspace setup
  • Assist with CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) operation and dimensional inspection under supervision
  • Shadow and assist valve assembly technicians to learn precision assembly, pneumatic testing, leak testing, and proof testing techniques
  • Follow all safety procedures for chemical handling, PPE usage, and hazardous operations while maintaining organized, clean, and safe work areas
  • Document cleaning processes, maintain cleaning solution quality records, and identify/report non-conformances or quality concerns
  • Progress toward independent execution of more complex manufacturing operations through hands-on training and development

Basic Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions
  • Ability to work independently once trained on specific tasks
  • Basic computer skills (email, document navigation, data entry)
  • Willing and able to work A Shift schedule (Monday-Thursday 5:00AM-3:30PM)
  • Able to pass Air Force background check for Cape Canaveral

Preferred Qualifications

  • 0-2 years of manufacturing, automotive, aviation, or precision assembly experience
  • Familiarity with hand tools and basic measurement equipment (calipers, micrometers)
  • Technical training from vocational school, community college, or military
  • Experience in cleanroom, laboratory, or controlled manufacturing environments
  • Previous exposure to quality control or inspection processes
  • Experience reading technical drawings or work instructions
  • Forklift certification or willingness to obtain
  • Strong work ethic and hunger to learn new technical skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively and ask questions when needed

Don't meet all desired requirements? Studies have shown that some people are less likely to apply to jobs unless they meet every single desired qualification. At Blue Origin, we are dedicated to building an authentic workplace, so if you're excited about this role but your past experience doesn't align perfectly with every desired qualification in the job description, we encourage you to apply anyway. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles.

Applicants for employment at Blue Origin must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e. current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Blue Origin is proud to be an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer and is committed to attracting, retaining, and developing a highly qualified and dedicated work force. Blue Origin hires and promotes people on the basis of their qualifications, performance, and abilities.
