This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.

We are looking for a dynamic Project Manager within the Operations team, you will play a vital role in developing and managing operational plans for complex electrical components throughout their lifecycle—from initial development to final integration. You will lead cross-functional teams to drive operational strategy and efficiency while managing cost, schedules, resources, risks, and change management. This role relies on your technical background and strong communication skills to coordinate with both internal teams and external suppliers, ensuring smooth project planning and successful execution. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, contributing to the delivery of high-quality, mission-critical products.

Position Specific Details:

  • Shifts: Mon-Fri (8am-5pm)
  • Location: Space Coast, FL
  • Relocation: Available

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the point of contact between the Lunar Permanence Business Unit subsystems to capture and analyze operational requirements and scope
  • Integrate and develop the operational plan(s) (containing scope, schedule, and budget (Labor and Non-Labor)/manpower) to enable a hardware development and flight execution manufacturing and testing across Lunar sites aligned with Operations Strategy.
  • Coordinate design support efforts within the manufacturing scope (program gated reviews to engineering release)
  • Coordinate and integrate / analyze manufacturing risks, develop and track risks, and develop and execute risk mitigation plans
  • Identify and impact changes to the Operations scope.
  • Work with Operations Scheduling to coordinate the operational build schedule into the Lunar Integrated Master Schedule.
  • Work with Operations Planning to ensure internal integration for fabrication and supply chain.
  • Support upward reporting cadence, report metrics including, but not limited to, budget & schedule variances, non-conformances, progress reports, execution plan changes, etc…
  • Lead and manage the development of high quality, competitive proposals in response to customer requests (RFP, RFI) and other bid opportunities. Ensure that all proposal efforts are compliant, compelling, and delivered on time. Contribute to the annual and multi-year planning efforts for the overall group.
  • Develop, maintain, and optimizing relationships with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery, quality performance, cost competitiveness, and compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements. Work closely with procurement, quality assurance, engineering, and production planning teams to monitor supplier performance and mitigate risks.

Team Focus & Domain Expertise:

As a Manufacturing Project Manager within the Lunar Operations team, you will report to the Mark 2 Crew Lander Operations Leader and will be primarily responsible for developing and managing the operational scope and plan for electrical components through delivery and ready for integration. You will engage and lead the operations and lunar design and manufacturing teams, help drive operations strategy and efficiency, drive earned value while managing cost, schedule, resource needs, risks & opportunities, and change management. You will use your technical background to understand and effectively communicate with Blue Origin internal and external organizations and suppliers to guide project planning and execution.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • B.S. Business, Engineering, Physics, Operations Management, or similar.
  • 5+ years' experience in the aerospace industry with engagement in program/project management and business management in a development and/or production environment.
  • Experience with planning and executing complex structural components, structural assemblies and mechanism products within integrated assemblies.
  • Excellent written, communication and presentation skills.
  • Aptitude for hands-on problem solving, with a passion for space systems.
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Experience with Primavera, MS Project or Similar.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in engineering or project management or PMP Certification
  • 8+ years' experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in project lifecycle management of aerospace systems and management of gated reviews.
  • Earned Value Management System experience
  • Experience leading organizations (directly or indirectly)
  • Experience delivering mission and safety critical software to space missions
  • Experience managing subcontracts

  • Required for Certain Job Profiles: Drivers who operate Commercial Motor Vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW), Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) or combination of power unit and trailer that meets or exceeds 10,001 lbs. and/or transports placardable amounts of hazardous materials by ground in any vehicle on a public road while in commerce, may be subject to additional Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations including: Driver Qualification Files, Medical Certification (obtained before onboarding), Road Test, Hours of Service, Drug and Alcohol Testing (CDL drivers only), vehicle inspection requirements, CDL requirements (if applicable) and hazardous materials transportation/shipping training.
  • Required for certain Job Profiles: Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical
