Facilities Senior Manager

At Blue Origin, LLC., we are in search of a Facilities Senior Manager to join our dynamic team. This role will be responsible for the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of mission-critical aerospace facilities. This role leads multi-disciplinary facilities teams and contractors, establishes preventive and corrective maintenance programs, manages operating budgets, and ensures facility systems support production, test, and launch operations with minimal downtime at our Florida-based facilities. A successful candidate will actively contribute to minimizing downtime, upholding the highest safety standards, and optimizing maintenance processes by fostering strong collaborations with internal departments like production and engineering, as well as external contractors. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership for 24/7 facilities operations across manufacturing, test, launch, and their associated support buildings.
  • Manage a team on in-house electricians, maintenance technicians, schedulers, and coordinators.
  • Oversee 3rd party vendors and contractors performing critical maintenance and repairs.
  • Ensure a high availability of critical building systems, specifically for this role, industrial electrical infrastructure, lightning protection, grounding, cranes, hangar doors, elevators, and other related systems.
  • Ensure all systems are maintained at intervals that meet or exceed manufacturer's recommendations, as well as meet Range requirements for launch.
  • Oversee and manage escalations for facility outages, failures, and mission-impacting events.
  • Establish maintenance KPIs (uptime, MTBF, PM compliance, response time).
  • Develop and manage annual O&M budgets.
  • Control spend through prioritization, lifecycle planning, and vendor negotiations.

Minimum qualifications:

  • 10+ years progressive experience in facilities operations & maintenance.
  • 5+ years leading managers and/or large technical teams.
  • Proven ownership of critical facilities and infrastructure. (industrial, aerospace, defense, or energy)
  • Strong working knowledge of electrical & conveyance systems.
  • Experience working in the government sector, especially space and defense.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field
  • Experience supporting regulated or high-hazard environments
  • Strong understanding of CMMS/EAM systems, with a focus on Maximo
  • Familiarity with commissioning, turnover, and sustaining engineering
  • Ability to obtain government or restricted-site badging

  • Required for Certain Job Profiles: Drivers who operate Commercial Motor Vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW), Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) or combination of power unit and trailer that meets or exceeds 10,001 lbs. and/or transports placardable amounts of hazardous materials by ground in any vehicle on a public road while in commerce, may be subject to additional Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations including: Driver Qualification Files, Medical Certification (obtained before onboarding), Road Test, Hours of Service, Drug and Alcohol Testing (CDL drivers only), vehicle inspection requirements, CDL requirements (if applicable) and hazardous materials transportation/shipping training.
  • Required for certain Job Profiles: Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical
