This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.

This is a frontline, hands-on-hardware, GS2 Final Assembly Technician role. We are looking for Technicians to manufacture, assemble, and test structural flight hardware assemblies according to written procedures and engineering models, drawings, specifications. You will share in the team's impact on all aspects of transforming the way rockets are made and operated. Key Responsibilities:

  • Manufacture, assemble, and test New Glenn Second Stage Vehicle according to written procedures.
  • Manufacture, assemble, and test structural flight hardware including but not limited to: Avionic, Fluid, Mechanical, and Structural assemblies according to written procedures and engineering models, drawings, specifications.
  • Configure new production work areas with the necessary tooling and equipment to ensure efficient workflow and minimize any potential delays during the transition to high-rate manufacturing.
  • Operate precision calibrated tools (torque wrenches, micrometers, etc.) to maintain high safety and quality standards.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement projects for safety and efficiency, enhancing overall productivity.
  • Drive the transition from development to production, proactively performing troubleshooting and maintenance as needed.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas following 5S principles to promote safety and operational efficiency.

The New Glenn Second Stage (GS2) Final Technician at Blue Origin plays a pivotal role in advancing the efficiency and reliability of aerospace components through cutting-edge assembly methods. As part of a large, passionate, and accomplished team of experts, you will manufacture and assemble hardware on our premier launch vehicle, New Glenn. You will share in the team's impact on all aspects of transforming the way our 2nd stage are made and integrated. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention toward safe and repeatable spaceflight.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience with aerospace manufacturing, integration, or another related field: (0-3 years Level I Technician, 3+ Level II Technician, 5+ Level III Technician).
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications accurately.
  • Experience with precision calibration tools including torque wrenches, micrometers, calipers, laser tracker, and optical measuring instruments.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs and comfortable working at heights (work stands, ladders, lifts) and/or in confined spaces.
  • Expertise in various applications, including adhesives, sealants, and thermal blankets.
  • Proficiency in digital tools, including Windows and Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Industry certification, trade school training and/or degree in related field.
  • Experience in assembling large tight-tolerance structures.
  • Knowledge of precision assembly processes and handling large aerospace components.
  • Strong technical and leadership skills with a keen attention to detail, essential for leading teams in complex integration tasks.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills in various teams to foster a positive work environment.
  • Continuous improvement mindset and curiosity for optimizing processes, driving innovation.
  • Willingness to work overtime.

  • Required for Certain Job Profiles: Drivers who operate Commercial Motor Vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW), Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) or combination of power unit and trailer that meets or exceeds 10,001 lbs. and/or transports placardable amounts of hazardous materials by ground in any vehicle on a public road while in commerce, may be subject to additional Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations including: Driver Qualification Files, Medical Certification (obtained before onboarding), Road Test, Hours of Service, Drug and Alcohol Testing (CDL drivers only), vehicle inspection requirements, CDL requirements (if applicable) and hazardous materials transportation/shipping training.
  • Required for certain Job Profiles: Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical
