Oversee daily production operations to ensure adherence to established processes, quality standards, and safety regulations. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and address deviations promptly to maintain efficiency and product quality.
Execute the production schedule based on the capacity heatmap and shipment requirements, coordinating workflow across shifts and workstations. Optimize resource allocation, including personnel and equipment utilization, to meet production targets.
Ensure operators strictly follow Work Instructions (WIs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Conduct regular line checks, walk the line, enforce quality control measures, and escalate non-conformities or product deviations to the Quality and Engineering teams.
Drive operational efficiency on the floor by minimizing idle time, reducing rework, and optimizing material usage. Monitor consumables inventory and collaborate with Engineering/Planning to prevent stock-outs or excess waste.
Closely manage the inventory of consumables (e.g., chemicals, operating supplies) on the production floor. Provide accurate usage feedback to the supply chain/planning team to improve forecasting accuracy and maintain optimal stock levels.
Ensure all shift logs, production reports, maintenance requests, and compliance documents are accurately completed and maintained. Report daily production status, bottlenecks, and equipment issues to the Production Manager.
Provide direct supervision, coaching, and guidance to the production operators. Conduct on-the-job training, ensure competency in performing tasks, and actively engage with the team through activities like Walk The Line (WTL) and shift meetings.
Promote and enforce a safe working environment, ensuring all personnel adhere to safety protocols. Drive 5S (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) initiatives to maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workspace.
Act as the first point of contact for production issues, including minor equipment malfunctions, process deviations, or personnel conflicts. Resolve immediate operational problems and escalate complex technical or resource issues to the relevant Engineering or Management teams.
Actively support and implement continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., VSM, lean manufacturing suggestions) on the production floor. Collect and provide feedback on process effectiveness to the Engineering teams to drive ongoing optimization.
