Workplace Operations Manager

CHAOS Inc. is a global technology company delivering next-generation capabilities to the defense and critical industrial sectors. Founded in 2022 by a seasoned leadership team, CHAOS has quickly become the place where world-class multi-disciplinary engineers come to build mission-critical technologies. CHAOS has a mission-focused culture, dedicated to solving the toughest technical challenges. Its unique agile engineering approach enables rapid prototyping, while deep partnerships with defense and industry ensure real-world solutions.

Role Overview :

This role is central to keeping the CHAOS UK team running smoothly day-to-day. Based in our new Soho office, you'll take the lead on workplace operations — making sure everything from supplies to space management is handled — while also supporting the team on people and recruiting tasks, like scheduling interviews and organizing events. It's a hands-on role that suits someone who's organized, proactive, and happy to roll up their sleeves to help wherever it's needed. As a fast-growing startup, we're looking for someone who thrives in a flexible environment and enjoys solving problems as they come up.

Responsibilities :

  • Office operations & workspace ownership : you'll take ownership of keeping the CHAOS UK office running smoothly — managing supplies, shaping the space as the team grows, and organizing team events. We're still building things out, so an eye for detail and comfort with light project coordination (e.g. office set-up, improvements) will go a long way.
  • Team logistics & support : With CHAOS team members regularly travelling for field deployments, you'll help coordinate logistics like travel bookings, and select schedules. This part of the role requires good judgement, responsiveness, and the ability to handle last-minute changes.
  • People & recruitment coordination : You'll support the recruiting process by scheduling interviews (virtual and onsite), helping candidates feel welcome, and assisting with onboarding. You'll also be a UK point of contact for people operations — working closely with the US team to help keep things run smoothly for our London-based employees.
  • Internal and external communications : You'll help keep the wider team updated on what's happening in the UK — sharing photos, writing occasional internal updates, and helping create content that captures the energy of the team. You may also help with supporting the external communications strategy to raise CHAOS' profile in the UK and Europe.

Minimum Requirements :

  • Problem-solving mindset : This role suits someone who's resourceful, proactive, and enjoys figuring things out — whether that's finding the right person to speak to, coordinating a last-minute schedule change, or tackling something totally new.
  • Team player with humility : You're happy to pitch in on anything — big or small — and help create a collaborative, supportive atmosphere where others are encouraged to do the same.
  • Organized and adaptable : Things move quickly at CHAOS. Being able to stay organized, plan ahead, and adjust as things change is essential — especially when supporting a team with lots of moving parts.
  • Positive energy & team culture : You'll play a key role in helping the office feel like a great place to be — organizing socials, spotting small ways to improve morale, and helping build a culture where people enjoy coming in
  • London-based : This role is based in our Soho office and will require being in the office most days to support the team in person.

Preferred Requirements :

  • Experience: Office management, project management, experience working with Armed Forces, technology or defence companies.
  • Event management: The growth of the UK team will require events, conferences, office openings and internal celebrations. This role will be at the heart of organizing these big and small events.
  • Digital content creation: Supporting the US team and BD team to create branding and content to further CHAOS profile and mission.

Why CHAOS?

  • Benefits : include private medical insurance (including dental and vision) for employees and dependents - fully covered by the company - and a 5% pension match.
  • Perks : include free daily lunch and unlimited time off.
  • Compensation : competitive base salaries, pre-IPO stock option grants, relocation assistance + (coming soon!) annual bonuses.
  • Company Size : 160 employees and counting!
  • More About Us : We're building the next generation of aerospace, defense and critical industry technologies with a seasoned team of mission-focused individuals. We were founded in June 2022 and our goal is to become the platform where world-class engineers come to solve critical, real-world problems. We use agile engineering approaches which enable rapid prototyping, deep partnerships with the defense industry ensuring real-world application, and our newly-invented Coherence platform (through which we've made a fundamental breakthrough) improves sensor performance and decision-making in real-time. As of April 2025 we have raised $490M (including a $275M Series C at a $2B valuation) from some of the most prominent VC funds and investors including Accel, NEA, 8VC, and Valar. With a managing team that includes Epirus' founding members (responsible for building a $1.5B company from scratch) + key drivers from Palantir (instrumental in Palantir's growth to $1B in revenue), we are well-positioned to become one of the fastest growing companies to date!

Salary range: £55,000 - £70,000

The stated compensation range reflects only the targeted base compensation range and excludes additional earnings such as bonus, equity, and benefits.
