Firefly Aerospace Internship

As an end-to-end responsive space transportation company, Firefly Aerospace is on a mission to enable our world to launch, land, and operate in space – anywhere, anytime. Firefly has year-round engineering-focused internship opportunities for our locations in Texas. Both current undergrads and new graduates are encouraged to apply. As a Firefly Launch Vehicles Intern, you will support the Alpha program managers through all stages of mission and system design, including preliminary concept, detailed design, architecture layout, and execution.

You will have the opportunity to gain mission design experience by developing novel solutions for challenging problems. These positions require high levels of creativity, flexibility, and collaboration. The ability to communicate effectively within a multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural group is an absolute must.

Responsibilities:

• Support mission managers with mission design, manifest alignment, and program execution tasks
• Assist in customer relations and milestone reviews
• Develop program execution plans and strategy plans
• Maintain detailed and organized documentation

Qualifications:

Required:

• Must be currently enrolled in either a BS or MS program (or a recent graduate) at an accredited four-year university or college.
• Willing to work in a hands-on, constantly evolving environment
• Detail-oriented, managing multiple priorities while maintaining focus on a common goal
• Excellent customer service skills, presentation skills, and public speaking
• Experience working with and managing a cross-functional team with conflicting priorities

Desired:

Candidates should preferably have a focus in one of the following areas:

• 3D CAD, preferably Siemens NX experience
• Demonstrated program management and leadership skills
• Business development/sales experience
• Demonstrated history of exposure to, or interest in, aerospace systems engineering
• Eager to search for areas needing process improvements to increase efficiency and build tools to enable the team

To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), you must be a U.S. citizen, a lawful permanent resident of the U.S., a protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
