In this role, you will oversee configuration management, sustainment planning, and obsolescence mitigation while working cross-functionally with engineering, supply chain, program teams, and field service. You'll act as the go-to technical liaison for customers, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure product readiness through hands-on problem-solving and operational support. This is a dynamic, fast-paced role based on-site at our Clarksburg, MD facility—ideal for a detail-oriented technical professional with at least 5 years of relevant experience and a strong background in engineering or related fields.

What You'll Do

This role ensures sustained operational readiness, drives continuous improvement, and bridges cross-functional teams—including engineering, supply chain, program management, and field service—to deliver seamless product support for both customers and internal stakeholders. Key Responsibilities

  • Lifecycle & Sustainment Leadership
    • Own the full sustainment lifecycle for deployed systems, ensuring product performance, reliability, and customer satisfaction.
    • Support provisioning, level-of-repair analysis, and PHS&T activities to enable effective DoD supply chain integration.
    • Identify and mitigate sustainment risks during new product gate processes.
  • Configuration & Change Management
    • Lead internal configuration change management processes and Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) coordination with stakeholders.
    • Partner with Hardware Product Development to prepare source technical data and drawings in support of new programs, field modifications, and Technical Manual updates.
  • Obsolescence & Supply Chain Support
    • Collaborate with Supply Chain and Program Teams to analyze and report obsolescence risks.
    • Develop mitigation strategies and assess impacts to program schedules, costs, and production readiness.
  • Customer & Field Support
    • Act as a technical liaison to Field Service teams, providing engineering triage and support for operational-level maintenance and technical information requests.
    • Participate directly in problem-solving to enhance operational efficiency and mission success.
  • Process Improvement & Operations Management
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across operations workflows and support new process rollouts.
    • Ensure seamless program execution by managing multiple tasks, shifting priorities, and cross-functional dependencies.
  • Tools & Documentation
    • Utilize digital tools such as spreadsheets, NetSuite, Arena, and Jira to track, document, and report on technical and programmatic activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field (required).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical product support, sustainment engineering, lifecycle management, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging both technical teams and executive stakeholders.
