✨ About The Role
- Lead the design and development of custom opto-mechanical systems for advanced metal 3D printing systems
- Integrate high-power lasers and high-speed camera solutions to enhance print speed, quality, precision, and throughput
- Create drawings to opto-mechanical GD&T standards and establish precision alignment processes
- Collaborate with process engineering, mechanical, electrical, and software teams to develop a robust and scalable system architecture
- Conduct tests and characterizations of optical performance, working closely with the process engineering team to solve physics-based interdependencies
âš¡ Requirements
- Experienced opto-mechanical engineer with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in designing and developing opto-mechanical systems
- Proficient in CAD, precision alignment, and optical assemblies with a strong background in mechanical engineering and physics fundamentals
- Ability to work collaboratively across engineering disciplines and act as a technical lead for complex systems
- Comfortable working on custom hardware and implementing novel laser and camera solutions for closed-loop control
- Bachelor's degree in optics, mechanical engineering, or a related technical field preferred
