Role At A Glance

Gecko Robotics' Manufacturing team is one of its newest and fastest-growing, building robotic and software systems that accelerate American industry and support critical government programs. As a Software Engineer, you will develop field and cloud software that powers robotic systems, process sensor data, and empower decision-making across the industrial base. You will collaborate daily with engineers of all disciplines, in addition to Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) experts, to help protect critical infrastructure and support national security initiatives.

Due to government program requirements, candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.

  1. Build cloud and field applications for use within the Military-Industrial Base
  2. Create ontologies representing the digital thread of industrial assets
  3. Architect robust interfaces between field and cloud software systems
  4. Solve complex deployment problems as we ship software to edge devices around the US
  5. Iterate quickly with today's customers while building for the long run

Technologies We Use

  • Python, Typescript, React
  • Google Cloud

  • Experience working with cloud-based infrastructure (GCP, AWS, or Azure)
  • Experience designing APIs and interfaces between distributed systems
  • Demonstrated ability to independently own and deliver complex technical projects end-to-end
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams with varied technical backgrounds
  • Comfortable operating in fast-paced, rapidly evolving environments with dynamic objectives
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams
  • Willingness to travel periodically to other Gecko offices (including Pittsburgh, New York, and Boston) and to client sites as needed

Preferred Skills

  • Experience building production systems using Python
  • Experience building frontend applications using React and Typescript (or JavaScript)
  • Experience working with 3D rendering techniques and frameworks
  • Experience supporting U.S. Government or Department of Defense programs
  • Familiarity with industrial inspection or Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) concepts is a plus (not required; Gecko provides domain training)
