Propulsion Technician (Clean-line)

As a Clean-line Technician at Impulse, you will be responsible for cleaning, preparing, and processing spacecraft parts, assemblies, and tooling in accordance with strict aerospace standards. Working within cleanroom and clean-line facilities, the technician ensures that hardware meets required levels of cleanliness before integration and flight.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform precision cleaning of metal, composite, and propulsion components using approved solvents, ultrasonic baths, and rinse systems.
  • Operate clean-line equipment (ultrasonic cleaners, DI water systems, ovens, drying stations, particulate counters).
  • Conduct visual inspections and particulate monitoring to verify cleanliness levels per aerospace standards.
  • Handle and package flight hardware in cleanroom environments, maintaining FOD (Foreign Object Debris) and contamination control protocols.
  • Maintain accurate logs, work orders, and quality documentation to support flight certification.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
  • 4+ years of experience in precision cleaning, cleanroom operations, or aerospace/semiconductor/medical manufacturing.
  • Proficient with basic fabrication tools and processes (electric/pneumatic power tools, tube bending, machining, welding, etc.).
  • Demonstrated experience with solvents, ultrasonic cleaning, and DI water systems.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • 4+ years of demonstrated experience in spacecraft or aerospace hardware cleaning.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of ISO 14644 cleanroom standards and NASA/JPL contamination-control guidelines.
  • Certified training in handling hazardous materials (HAZMAT).
  • Prior experience with documentation systems such as ERP/MRP or digital travelers.

Additional Requirements:

  • Flexible schedule and willing to travel as needed.
  • Ability to lift 25lbs unassisted.

Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity.
