This is a foundational role where you will be instrumental in evaluating and selecting the right tools, establishing data processes, and enabling our team to leverage data effectively. You will be a key player in transforming our current reporting capabilities into a robust, scalable data platform.
Platform Strategy & Tool Evaluation: Lead the assessment of existing data capabilities and potential new tools, focusing on modern data stack solutions.
Implementation & Architecture: Design and oversee the end-to-end implementation of the data warehouse architecture, including data ingestion (ETL/ELT), storage, modeling, and reporting layers.
Process Development: Establish best practices for data governance, quality, security, and documentation to ensure a sustainable environment.
Data Integration: Implement pipelines to integrate data from various sources into the data warehouse using tools like Airbyte, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
Compliance & Security: Ensure all architectural designs and data flows adhere strictly to GovCloud and/or FedRAMP requirements.
BI Optimization: Enhance existing Business Intelligence (BI) capabilities by improving the utilization of Power BI for advanced reporting, moving beyond basic use.
Training & Enablement: Develop training programs and documentation for "power users" and staff to foster a data-driven culture and enable self-service analytics.

Impulse Space, the in-space transportation company founded by Tom Mueller, is opening access beyond Low Earth Orbit (LEO) with its fleet of in-space transportation vehicles. The high-energy Helios vehicle unlocks orbits beyond LEO with its powerful Deneb engine, dropping off payloads in MEO, GEO, heliocentric, lunar, and other planetary orbits. The flight-proven Mira vehicle uses a nontoxic, high-impulse chemical propulsion system to offer orbital transport, constellation deployment, and precision reentry services to customers throughout LEO. Led by a team that delivered the most reliable rockets in history, Impulse provides economical and efficient in-space transportation by reliably and rapidly getting customers where they want to go.
