Development Technician

Infleqtion is a global quantum technology company solving the world's most challenging problems. Our mission is to commercialise atom-based quantum products that provide orders of magnitude improvements in performance and computing applications.

This is a full-time position split between our Kidlington, Oxford office and the National Quantum Computing Centre, Harwell. Work from home permitted up to 2 days per week based on business needs and manager approval.

The Development Technician will play a key role in supporting Infleqtion's product and process development. Working collaboratively with cross-functional teams, you will contribute to the design, build, and optimisation of prototype and production systems, helping to drive continuous improvement across projects and manufacturing processes.

The duties and responsibilities outlined below include essential functions of the role. Depending on business needs, this role may perform a combination of some or all of the following duties. Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change, or new ones may be assigned.

  • Build complex electro-mechanical-optical assemblies for prototypes and development products.
  • Install and integrate electrical and mechanical components, including PCBAs, wiring harnesses, optics, and fasteners.
  • Assemble and test prototype PCBs, providing feedback to design teams to improve performance and manufacturability.
  • Support the Manufacturing Engineering Manager in developing and optimising production processes, tools, jigs, and test procedures.
  • Prepare detailed production documentation, work instructions, and build/test reports.
  • Design and manufacture wiring harnesses and related sub-assemblies.
  • Assist in development trials and process reviews, recommending improvements.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure product readiness and smooth transition to production.
  • Maintain accurate build records and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.
