Head of Production

✨ About The Role

- Responsible for scaling satellite manufacturing operations from initial builds to constellation-class manufacturing lines - Develop production manufacturing planning and operational best practices, including recruitment, hiring, and training of production and manufacturing engineering employees - Collaborate with senior engineering leadership to ensure designs are manufacturable and delivered to specification - Manage sourcing and supply chain teams, oversee build schedules, resource planning, and establish plans for continuous improvement - Lead the integration and test of spacecraft from subassembly integration to fully integrated spacecraft testing

⚡ Requirements

- Experienced leader with a background in mechanical, aerospace, or relevant engineering disciplines, with at least 7+ years of experience managing large teams on technically-complex projects - Deep understanding of production and hardware manufacturing, including lean manufacturing principles and experience with various components such as circuit boards, power electronics, avionics, and thermal systems - Skilled in managing vendors, suppliers, and strategic technical partners, with a focus on cost breakdowns, proposal work, and contract discussions - Strong conflict resolution and negotiation skills, along with experience in business development and managing multi-million dollar contracts - Ability to champion a positive and safety-focused workplace culture while leading manufacturing teams through low to full rate production
