Sr. Technical Product Manager, Software

Kymeta is looking for a Sr. Technical Product Manager, Software. As a member of Kymeta's Product Management team, the successful candidate will be focused, enthusiastic and work well in a cross-functional team environment. The role will be responsible for researching, defining, and owning delivery of everything from new features and capabilities to whole turnkey solutions that support our evolving and growing market reach. This challenging opportunity involves close interaction with a variety of customers and multiple departments across the organization. We are seeking a creative problem solver with a passion for driving and delivering meaningful impacts for our customers.
This position is based at our facility in Woodinville, WA and reports to the Sr. Director of Product Management.
Key Duties And Responsibilities
- Own the software product roadmap and strategy. Be comfortable providing updates to leadership and advocating for and owning changes when needed.
- Collaborate with customers and customer-facing teams to aggregate, track, weight their feedback and factor that into product roadmaps. Be the constant Voice of The Customer to Engineering and Operations on what's working and the benefits of changes.
- Own requirements development and management, including but not limited to the development of product level requirements, competitive analysis and positioning, trade-off analysis, and scorecard of key features and capabilities.
- Own execution of product lifecycle and changes from creating a working concept and prototype through, market launch, and end of life.
- Develop and maintain product-specific content including release notes, spec sheets, white papers, ICDs, RFI responses, etc.
- Be an evangelist for our products internally and externally, demonstrate authentic excitement and in depth understanding of the products, services, ecosystem and use cases.
- Interact with customers and customer-facing teams to obtain their feedback and factor that into product planning.
- Support continuous improvement projects that drive new revenue opportunities, saves costs and delight the customer. This is done by working with internal and external stakeholders and resources to optimize ROI of business opportunities.
- Travel to customer locations, demonstrations, meetings, training and events is expected (up to 10% travel).
Skills And Experience
- 5+ years of technical product management or related engineering (systems, software, electrical, and or hardware) experience for a multi-product software defined hardware platform. Preferably related to global communications, networking, radar, or microwave technologies.
- Experience managing requirements and roadmaps for multiple concurrent projects and teams internally and externally.
- Experience with embedded software, Azure, mobile applications, and desktop applications.
- Preference for previous military or government service related to SATCOM on the move. Demonstrated knowledge of mobile satcom required with experience working in mobility markets such as unmanned mobility, maritime, automotive, or aviation is desirable.
- A passion for technology, invention, and innovation. Eager to test, demonstrate, and use your products in the real world.
- Demonstrated ability to write concise, actionable, testable product requirements.
- Demonstrated understanding of the product lifecycle from concept, through development, launch, support and end of life with knowledge of technology readiness levels (TRL).
- Demonstrated experience working cross-functionally with Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing and Supply Chain organizations.
- Exceptional organizational and analytical skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to empathize with customer challenges.
- Strong communication skills including verbal and written communication, the willingness to discuss questions or uncertainties in job assignments and to be able to positively interact with co-workers.
- A bias for action with an ability to be flexible and resourceful, with a "figure it out and get it done" mentality.
- Ability to make good risk-based decisions and methodically manage a variety of competing requirements, needs, and interests using data driven methods in a fast-paced environment.
- Preference for candidate holding or eligible for security clearance.
Education
- BA or BS degree or equivalent related experience preferably with a technical focus.
- Prefer relevant advanced studies or certification.
- Prefer relevant certifications or training in related fields.
- Military experience a plus.
Compensation
Kymeta is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. In the spirit of pay transparency, we have determined the salary range for this position to be $140,000 - $195,000. This is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would be atypical, in order to allow for future and continued salary growth. Compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to: skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and geography. The total compensation package for this position includes an annual target bonus of 10%, stock options, and benefits listed below. We believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer.
