Lyten

Develops lithium-sulfur batteries and 3D graphene-based materials to enable higher-performance, more sustainable energy storage and advanced composites.

Manufacturing Engineer

Lyten is leading an industrial revolution through Lyten 3D Graphene™, a breakthrough supermaterial unlocking a new generation of products — from lithium–sulfur batteries and energy storage systems to concrete admixtures, lightweight composites, and next-generation sensors that are revolutionizing industries. Together, these innovations are making a massive global improvement and driving real-world impact across energy, mobility, construction, and defense.

At Lyten, we believe the most meaningful careers begin with purpose — and with people who want to make a difference. We're not just developing advanced supermaterials — we're about to change the world as we know it, reshaping how energy is stored, how products are built, and how progress is made.

We're entering an exciting growth phase, scaling production across the U.S. and Europe and expanding our team of engineers, scientists, and innovators.

Lyten is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer with a strong desire to contribute and grow in a demanding environment. This position is responsible for designing, implementing, controlling, and optimizing industrial processes and equipment, specifically related to pouch cell assembly. The Engineer will develop and execute experimental programs and operations plans to meet production targets.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Day-to-Day Line Support: Assist in maintaining and troubleshooting the pouch cell assembly line to ensure daily production and R&D targets are met.
  • Process Documentation: Help draft, update, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), manufacturing work instructions, and build logs as the process matures.
  • Data Collection & Analysis: Collect, organize, and analyze production and yield data to help identify bottlenecks, defects, or areas for process improvement.
  • Experimental Support: Assist senior engineers in setting up and executing engineering builds, testing, and Design of Experiments (DOEs).
  • Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify opportunities to improve workspace organization (5S), line efficiency, and operator safety.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with technicians, R&D engineers, and quality teams to understand build requirements and resolve daily production issues.
  • Safety: Maintain a clean, safe work environment and strictly adhere to all laboratory and manufacturing safety protocols.

Required Qualifications:

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Internship experience in an engineering role.
  • Proficient in CAD design, GD&T and tolerance stack up analysis.
  • A strong desire to learn, high adaptability to a fast-paced "pilot line" environment, and a comfortable attitude toward working with evolving, less-mature systems.
  • Solid understanding of engineering fundamentals, basic statistical concepts, and familiarity with data tools (Excel, MATLAB, etc.)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to clearly document processes and present findings to the team.
  • Expected to travel ~<10%.

Physical & Mental Requirements:

  • Must be able to sit, stand and use a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively.
  • Must be able to lift, up to 50 lbs.
  • No physical limitations to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators when required.
  • Must collaborate and work well with other team members.
  • Must be able to occasionally work in a dry room setting.

Compensations Range:

The expected base salary range for this position is between $72,400.00 - $108,600.00. The level of pay within the range will depend on a variety of job-related factors that may include location, relevant prior experience and/or education, or particular skills and expertise. New hires joining the company tend to be paid within the starting base pay range noted above, with opportunities to increase pay over time based on development of additional skills, competencies, and company-specific knowledge.

In addition to base pay this position is eligible for tier based bonus and equity, healthcare, dental, vision, corporate discounts, paid holidays, PTO and sick time, 401K, employee relocation plan (if applicable)
