Coating Technician II

The Coating Technician II at Lyten will be responsible for performing and supporting multiple coating processes within our product line. They will execute the coating operations, and ensure equipment and systems operate reliably and efficiently. They will carry out regular maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs to keep the organization's infrastructure in optimal condition.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform and support all operations related to coatings of Lyten 3D Graphene materials
  • Perform and support the application of coatings to include mixing, spraying, curing, and item inspection throughout the process
  • Wear of proper PPE under all hazardous conditions
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose issues with machinery and equipment, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
  • Repairs: Address any breakdowns or malfunctions in equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Documentation: Maintain records of all maintenance and repair activities, ensuring up-to-date documentation
  • Safety: Ensure that all maintenance activities are carried out in accordance with safety protocols and regulations.
  • Tools and Equipment Management: Keep all tools and equipment in good working condition and ensure that the work area is clean and organized.
  • Collaboration: Work closely within the team to ensure product group success
  • Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree (unrelated field) OR
    • Associate degree (unrelated field) AND 1+ year of relevant experience in fast growth manufacturing or machining environments, control systems, or a related area OR
    • Military AND 1+ year of relevant experience in fast growth manufacturing or machining environments, data entry, purchasing, with control systems, or a related area OR
    • High School Diploma or equivalent AND 2+ years of relevant experience in fast growth manufacturing or machining environments, data entry, purchasing, with control systems, or a related area. OR
    • Equivalent experience

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience in a repair shop involving paint and coating repair; experience with fill and fair of surfaces
    • Experience with spray coating and/or cast coating polymer systems
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain a clean work environment
    • Experience in a manufacturing or painting operation
    • Excellent problem-solving skills
    • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Must be a team player and able to work under minimal supervision.
    • Basic computer skills for documentation and communication purposes.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to work in a laboratory environment.
    • Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, lab coats, safety glasses, and respirators as required
    • Ability to stand for extended periods of time during laboratory experiments and battery assembly.
    • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

    Compensations Range:

    The expected base salary range for this position is between $31.63 - $47.50. The level of pay within the range will depend on a variety of job-related factors that may include location, relevant prior experience and/or education, or particular skills and expertise. New hires joining the company tend to be paid within the starting base pay range noted above, with opportunities to increase pay over time based on development of additional skills, competencies, and company-specific knowledge.

    In addition to base pay this position is eligible for tier based bonus and equity, healthcare, dental, vision, corporate discounts, paid holidays, PTO and sick time, 401K, employee relocation plan (if applicable).
