We're seeking a highly motivated business development summer intern with a technical or engineering background to join our growth team. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the commercial space industry, working at the intersection of cutting-edge aerospace technology and strategic market expansion. The intern will support key initiatives across market research, competitive analysis, and capture planning, directly contributing to Muon Space's pipeline growth in both government and commercial sectors.

Muon is a small and fast growing startup which offers interns the experience to get direct mentorship and have real impact on our programs. As an intern, you'll collaborate with a dynamic team in a startup environment and have the chance to learn from some of the most accomplished and experienced aerospace professionals in the industry. We're committed to offering an experience where your decisions and contributions play a pivotal role in driving Muon's success.

As a business development intern, you will be responsible for a range of projects that support our long-term growth strategy:

  • Market Analysis: Conduct in-depth research on new and adjacent market segments for Muon Space's end-to-end space systems.
  • Competitive Intelligence: Track and analyze key competitors, including their technology, pricing, partnerships, and contract wins to inform Muon Space's differentiators and value proposition.
  • Capture Strategy Research: Support the development of capture plans for specific customer solicitations (e.g., RFIs, RFPs) by researching customer needs, budget cycles, and key stakeholders.
  • Content Development: Contribute to the creation of compelling business materials, including capability briefings, executive summaries, and proposals by synthesizing technical information from engineering and mission teams.
  • Data Synthesis: Present research findings and strategic recommendations to the business development and executive teams in a clear, concise, and professional manner.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in business administration, aerospace, systems, mechanical, electrical engineering, computer science, or a related technical field.
  • Returning to a degree program after the internship.
  • Demonstrated interest in the space industry, aerospace, and/or satellite technology.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.

Nice-to-have Skills

  • Previous internship or co-op experience.
  • Strong technical foundation with relevant academic or real world experience in the space industry (i.e. rocket club, cubesat mission, etc.)
  • Familiarity with the government contracting process (dod, ic, civil agencies).
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills for market sizing and financial modeling.

The hourly wage for this role is $50.
