Electrical Engineering Intern (Summer 2026)

Summer internships will range between May and September depending on university schedules. The internship is full-time and on-site in Mountain View, CA.

The Electrical Engineering team at Muon is responsible for all electronics on the spacecraft, ranging from the batteries to the flight computer and even our own payloads! Interns can look forward to owning a project from start to finish which could involve developing a new test for our production avionics or designing a PCBA for a new capability. Come work with the team and help design the future electronics for our Spacecraft!

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of or contribute to the hardware or firmware design for spacecraft or payload development
  • Initiate or assist in test campaigns and/or design and improve test setups
  • Conduct analysis to support both development and testing phases
  • Engage in testing and measurement activities in the lab, either on the bench or within a clean room environment

Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Altium, KiCAD or other schematic capture and layout software
  • Experience with Oscilloscopes, Electronic Loads, and DMMs
  • Prior experience designing, testing, and debugging PCBAs
  • Basic programming skills in C/C++ and/or python

Nice-to-have Skills

  • Previous internship or co-op experience
  • Previous experience on technical project teams (i.e. Rocket club, formula SAE, solar car, etc.)
  • Experience with Component Test Racks, Hardware-in-the-loop testing (HIL or HITL), wire harness design and building
  • Ability to solder/reflow PCBAs and use hand tools
  • Experience testing and characterizing battery cells or packs

Salary

The hourly wage for this role is $50.
