About the Role:

The Jr. Developer Relations Engineer supports Planet's developer ecosystem by improving technical documentation, enabling customer self-service, and assisting in the adoption of the Planet APIs and platform capabilities. Working within the Education and Enablement team and in close collaboration with Product, Engineering, and Support, this role helps ensure that developers can successfully onboard, build, and scale with Planet's technology.

This is a hybrid technical and communication-focused role. The Jr. DevRel Engineer contributes to documentation strategy, education content, and community engagement, helping shape how Planet's developer experience is delivered across the Documentation site, Knowledge Base, and Planet Community. This role will also support emerging platform initiatives, including the Planet Insights Platform and AI-enabled workflows.

This is a full-time, hybrid role which will require you to work from our Berlin office 3 days per week.

Impact You'll Own:

  • Contribute to technical documentation for APIs, SDKs, and platform workflows across Planet tools.
  • Support documentation creation and maintenance
  • Help maintain documentation workflows, versioning, and review processes.
  • Assist in creating developer onboarding content, eval scripts, and technical guides.
  • Participate in Planet University course development, updates, and localization workflows.
  • Work with the Education and Partnerships teams to create and deliver outbound Developer and Solution Builder events (e.g. hackathons, onsite workshops, webinars. etc.) to grow these communities
  • Support community engagement by helping answer developer questions in Planet's online forums.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to improve accuracy, clarity, and usability of technical content.
  • Assist with tooling improvements and lightweight coding to improve developer experience.

What You Bring:

  • 1+ years of experience in technical documentation, developer education, or developer support.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Geospatial Studies, or equivalent experience.
  • Basic proficiency in Python and/or JavaScript.
  • Familiarity with Git and developer workflows (merge requests, repositories, version control).
  • Interest in developer experience, APIs, and technical education.
  • Solid written communication skills with attention to clarity and structure.
  • Ability to collaborate across engineering, product, and support teams.
  • Comfort working in an evolving technical environment with multiple priorities.

  • Exposure to geospatial data, Earth observation platforms, or remote sensing concepts.
  • Interest in AI-enabled workflows or data-driven applications.
  • Experience contributing to tutorials, blog posts, or technical learning content.
  • Comfort participating in developer communities, forums, or knowledge-sharing spaces.
