✨ About The Role
- The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the design of key spacecraft subsystems for Planet's fleet of Earth-imaging satellites.
- The role involves driving documentation and presentation of new designs throughout various design phases and reviews.
- Collaboration with the structural analysis team is crucial to ensure that subsystems meet stiffness and strength requirements.
- The engineer will also be responsible for part and assembly tolerancing using GD&T and releasing drawing packages for fabrication.
- The position requires supporting test planning and qualification campaigns, as well as debugging on-orbit anomalies.

- The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of experience in mechanical design, particularly in the aerospace sector.
- A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is required, with a master's degree being a plus.
- Proficiency in CAD software and Product Lifecycle Management software is essential for success in this role.
- Candidates should have hands-on experience with dynamic hardware builds and testing, including vibration and shock testing.
- Strong verbal and visual communication skills are necessary to effectively collaborate with various teams.
