IT Operations Specialist

The IT Operations Specialist role will have broad responsibilities across our global footprint to maintain security and compliance, drive scalability and interoperability, and maximize resilience across our hardware and software systems. You'll partner with teams throughout the company to make IT a driver of productivity, not a blocker. We are looking for someone who will not follow standard IT dogma, but be operationally driven to find creative solutions that work for Q-CTRL.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Taking stock of what exists today (including the tech debt we've been living with) and designing a pragmatic roadmap forward.
- Managing our global endpoint fleet, ensuring compliance and the provisioning and de-provisioning of assets.
- Maintaining our IT hardware infrastructure (both cloud-based and on-prem) and cloud based services.
- Managing identity and access management (IAM) across our IT assets.
- Responding to, triaging, and executing helpdesk requests from staff.
- Working with our IT vendors to assess services, manage engagements, and plan improvements.
- Providing day-to-day training, support, and maintenance across our IT assets.
- Other duties within the Employee's skills and experience, or with reasonable training.
Ideally You'll Have:
- Experience as a Google Workspace administrator (essential).
- Strong experience in identity and access management (IAM) principles, including user provisioning and permission hygiene.
- Information technology service management (ITSM) experience to manage our service desk request process.
- Experience with inventory management for IT resources.
- Experience managing MacOS, Windows, and Linux endpoints via a mobile device management (MDM) system (i.e. Kandji).
- Ability to maintain a compliant bring your own device (BYOD) program.
- Experience implementing policies and tools to ensure cyber and information security compliance and data loss prevention (DLP) approaches.
- Ability to maintain a VPN system.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to modulate messaging across all levels and functions within the company.
- Creativity to solve the complex and evolving challenges of a growing business.
- A startup swagger (we move fast).
It Would Be Fantastic If You Have These Skills/Experience:
- Experiencing working in an ISO27001 compliant environment.
- Experience navigating compliance with global export control regimes.
- Familiarity with Jira Service Management (JSM).
- Experience with Azure cloud management.
