✨ About The Role
- The internship involves providing modeling and simulation support to the materials team under the software team.
- The intern will develop and refine TRISO fuel performance models using the BISON code for neutron irradiation experiments.
- Responsibilities include owning the fuel performance modeling of the RAFT irradiation experiment and executing BISON fuel performance models.
- The intern will create and document predictions for observables of the RAFT experiment, including radionuclide release rates.
- A final project review presentation to engineers and leadership is expected at the end of the internship.
âš¡ Requirements
- The ideal candidate is currently pursuing a B.S. in nuclear engineering, mechanical engineering, physics, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of one year of experience in BISON TRISO fuel performance modeling is required.
- The candidate should possess a high level of independence in solving challenging engineering tasks.
- They should be proactive in seeking out resources and asking questions to complete projects effectively and accurately.
- A genuine excitement for the mission of deploying nuclear microreactors to remote locations requiring clean energy is essential.
