- The Mechanical Engineer will take ownership of components and subsystems related to the nuclear microreactor development.
- Responsibilities include designing reactor core pressure vessels and internal components, as well as radiation shielding and thermal insulation.
- The role involves performing detailed thermal and mechanical analysis to ensure structural integrity and safety margins.
- The engineer will conduct trade studies to optimize structures and meet program requirements.
- Developing and executing manufacturing and assembly instructions, as well as test plans, will be part of the job.
- The position requires managing a Bill-Of-Materials (BOM) and finding suppliers for various components.
- The engineer will also own subassembly design, manufacturing, and test schedules, along with risk analysis for subsystems.

- The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a similar field from an accredited institution.
- Experience with CAD and FEA software packages is essential for success in this role.
- A solid understanding and application of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) will be beneficial.
- The candidate should enjoy solving problems and possess a growth mindset, demonstrating self-motivation and strong organizational skills.
- Strong written and oral communication skills are necessary to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams.
- Proficiency in Python, C, or C++ is desired, along with a solid first-principles analysis skillset.
