Software Engineer

Job Title

In this role, you will:

1. Design and implement backend features building complex network security application software, while working with product managers to turn features into scalable, reliable solutions.
2. Work with product managers to understand the STIG/CIS requirements and writing the implementation using Java/JavaScript.
3. Design, code, and test application features building complex network security application software, while working with engineering leaders, architects, and product managers to scope work and produce estimates.
4. Leverage technology knowledge to create technical designs while partnering with the product owner to deliver and gain QA acceptance.
5. Work on algorithmic, distributed systems problems.

Required Qualifications/Skills

• 3-5 years of experience in Java/JavaScript development.
• BS in Computer Science or related field.
• Proven successful technical leadership experience in network security technologies.
• Strong networking infrastructure background and deep understanding of routers, firewalls, load balancers and switches.
• Understanding of the fundamentals of Agile methodologies, iterative development, SCRUM, UAT and continuous integration.
• Experience with Java, Java Script, Jenkins, Git, Gradle, Artifactory, Docker, Kubernetes.
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic, agile, and nimble environment.
• Strong analytical, organization, project management and time management skills.
• Fundamental understanding of agile methodologies – iterative development, SCRUM, UAT, continuous integration.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and lead others, if so required.

Preferred Qualifications/Skills

• Experience using tools such as Pivotal, GitHub and Jenkins.
• Exposure to SDN/cloud fabric such as VMware NSX, Cisco ACI, Amazon EC2 and Microsoft Azure is a plus.
