About the Role

The Facilities Technician I supports the daily operations, maintenance, and repair of company facilities. This entry-level position assists with preventive maintenance, troubleshooting building systems, and ensuring a safe, clean, and functional work environment. The role operates under direct supervision and includes hands-on training across multiple trades, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building maintenance.

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on building systems, equipment, and infrastructure.
  • Respond to work orders and service requests promptly and professionally.
  • Conduct regular facility inspections to identify maintenance needs and potential safety issues.
  • Assist with setup, teardown, and relocation of office furniture and equipment.
  • Operate tools and equipment safely in accordance with OSHA and company standards.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities using the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Communicate effectively with employees and stakeholders regarding facility-related requests.

About You

  • 1+ year of experience in general maintenance, facilities, or a related field (internships or apprenticeships accepted).
  • Basic knowledge of one or more trades such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or carpentry.
  • Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions, manuals, and simple schematics.
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency; experience using a CMMS is preferred.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and perform physical work in various environments.
  • Willingness to be on-call for occasional after-hours emergencies.

Nice to Haves But Not Required

  • OSHA 10 certification.
  • Forklift or aerial lift operator certification.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify maintenance issues proactively and recommend corrective actions.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Successful candidates must clear a background check administered by the US government to obtain clearance for on-site work at our government partner location in Cape Canaveral, Florida.
