Fluids Assembly Technician I/II

Fluids Fabrication Technician I/II

Based out of Rocket Lab's Headquarters in Long Beach, CA the Fluids Assembly Technician is responsible for building the fluids systems sub-assemblies for Archimedes engine.

(Please note: this position can be hired at the Fluids Fabrication Technician I or Fluids Fabrication Technician II level)

What You'll Get To Do:

  • Set-up and operate CNC tube cutting equipment
  • Perform tube bending, flaring, fit up, and preparation to meet project specifications and industry standards
  • Cutting and assembling tubes based on provided drawings.
  • Assisting with day-to-day operations to ensure smooth workflow and efficiency.

You'll Bring These Qualifications As A Fluids Fabrication Technician I:

  • 2+ years of Tube shop experience in aviation, aerospace, or similar industry
  • Experience with tube bending machines from .250 to 6' tubes
  • Experience with BLM tube benders
  • High school diploma or GED.

You'll Bring These Qualifications As A Fluids Fabrication Technician II:

  • 5+ years of Tube shop experience in aviation, aerospace, or similar industry
  • Experience working with Inconel, titanium, aluminum and stainless steel
  • Experience working with close tolerances
  • Working knowledge of Tube Bending technology
  • High school diploma or GED.

These Qualifications Would Be Nice To Have:

  • 8+ years of mechanical assembly and/or mechanical fitting experience
  • Hands-on experience with CNC tube bending
  • Expertise in operating BLM tube benders
  • Skilled in maintaining and working with close tolerances
  • Knowledgeable in handling materials including Inconel, titanium, aluminum, and stainless steel

Additional Requirements:

  • Willing to work Monday - Thursday (5:30am - 3:30pm or 3:15pm - 1:45am)
  • Standing for long periods of time, climbing up and down ladders, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, and stretching may be required to perform the functions of this position
  • Able to lift up to 25lbs. unassisted
  • Must be able to climb ladders and be comfortable working in tight spaces.
  • Must be able to move repetitively, bend or twist, and use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls.
  • Must be able to walk or stand for extended periods – 8 hours min
  • Must be able to stoop, bend, crawl, and being able to maneuver in tight spaces

Level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
