Senior Manufacturing Engineer, Vehicle Integration

✨ About The Role

- The Senior Manufacturing Engineer, Vehicle Integration will be responsible for the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of equipment, tooling, and processes used in the final assembly, integration, and testing of the Neutron Launch Vehicle - Responsibilities include identifying, planning, and executing capital equipment, machine, and layout definitions to meet volume requirements, developing production processes, and ensuring accurate documentation - The role involves contributing to facility construction projects, design reviews, introduction of new products, and product revisions related to the Neutron launch vehicle - The engineer will lead problem containment and root cause investigations, introduce automation, ensure equipment data links to MRP and quality systems, identify risks and improvements, and develop the manufacturing engineering department to meet company needs - The position requires physical ability to commute to buildings, occasional exposure to dust, fumes, and moderate noise levels, and a commitment to Rocket Lab's mission to unlock the potential of space to improve life on Earth

⚡ Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, aerospace, or manufacturing engineering, or equivalent with 5+ years of experience in the assembly, integration, and testing of complex systems - Experience in technical project management or manufacturing design, with an advanced understanding of mechanical design principles - Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and GD&T, along with working experience with capacity modeling, Lean/Six Sigma, and value stream mapping - Ability to lead problem containment and structured root cause & corrective action investigations, introduce automation, and mentor less experienced engineers and technicians - Strong communication skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and a focus on safety, quality, delivery, and cost requirements
