- The Principal Software Engineer will be part of the Special Projects team at Shield AI, working on the integration of Hivemind Edge, Design, and Commander into an integrated product
- Responsibilities include creating technologies for rapid development of architectures, iterating with customer feedback, and exploring future hardware and software technologies relevant to Shield AI's product roadmap
- The role involves creating reference implementations for potential future products, identifying technical debt, and analyzing solutions to achieve them
- The position requires working closely with product teams, developing reference implementations, and functioning as a pipeline for product and solution engineering teams across the organization
- The successful candidate will have the opportunity to gain depth and breadth in understanding the Hivemind software ecosystem, positioning them well for leading technology development efforts across the organization
⚡ Requirements
- Experienced software engineer with over 15 years of developing large, production-quality software systems, particularly in aerospace or robotics industries
- Proficient in modern C++, with expertise in architectural design and implementation of complex distributed systems
- Skilled in Git and code management tools, with a passion for developing high-quality and optimized software solutions
- Strong collaborator with excellent technical skills and a desire to continuously learn and develop new skills
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating fluid intelligence to drive technical efforts and work effectively in ambiguous conditions
