Data Scientist (Starlink Sales)

The Starlink Enterprise Sales team is hiring a results-driven, capable Data Scientist to support Starlink's adoption across the world. Starlink brings an unprecedented opportunity to positively impact communities, businesses, and governments worldwide. This role is part of a high velocity team with extremely high expectations – the role requires a strong balance of business and technical acumen, as well as knowledge of the Starlink product and network, to support the Enterprise Sales team in achieving revenue targets.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain sales enablement, tools, processes, and custom software to objectively assess growth areas for the Starlink program and sense make for customers
  • Support data-driven investigations into product and strategy questions
  • Automate the aggregation of metrics to trend Starlink user behavior and performance
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key sales and engineering stakeholders
  • Apply data analytics, models, and techniques to data products created by the Starlink Enterprise Analytics team
  • Build software systems that ingest, transform, and store data
  • Fuse data from multiple sources to create usable and insightful information

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, physics, mathematics, or a STEM discipline
  • 1+ years of professional data/software engineering experience (internship experience is applicable)
  • Development experience in an object-oriented programming language (i.e. C, C++, Python)

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Professional experience in analytics, data science, or machine learning
  • Ability to take on projects that require taking initiative and developing new expertise
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment that includes working with changing needs and requirements
  • Experience building solutions with in-stream data processing of structured and semi-structured data
  • Experience building predictive models and machine learning pipelines (clustering analysis, prediction, anomaly detection)
  • Experience in custom ETL design, implementation, and maintenance
  • Familiarity with the Open Systems Intercommunication (OSI) model and other common networking principles

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends as needed

Compensation and Benefits:

Pay range:
Data Engineer/Engineer I: $122,500.00 - $145,000.00/per year
Data Engineer/Engineer II: $140,000.00 - $170,000.00/per year

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
