Production Test Technician (Starlink)

SpaceX is leveraging our experience building rockets and spacecraft to deploy Starlink, the world's largest satellite constellation and most advanced broadband internet system. We provide reliable and fast internet to millions of users worldwide, including populations with little or no connectivity, rural communities, aircraft, watercraft, and places where existing services are unreliable, too expensive, or disconnected by natural disasters. We design, build, test, and operate all parts of the system, thousands of satellites and consumer antennae that allow users to connect within minutes of unboxing. The Starlink team is seeking out the best-in-class professionals to maximize Starlink's potential for communities and businesses around the globe.

As a Production Test Technician on the Starlink team, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of Starlink products through manufacturing and test.

Responsibilities:

  • Support production in critical SMT lines-down events
  • Wire and assemble ATE during new SMT line bring-up
  • Perform PCB solder rework and hand assembly
  • Troubleshoot first pass yield issues
  • Assemble cable harnesses and install in test racks
  • Develop mechanical fixturing solutions
  • Assess production compliance to company and industry standards

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • 1+ years of experience working in a production, mechanical, or manufacturing environment

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • 2+ years of test experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Associate's degree in a technical or engineering field
  • Experience working with root cause/corrective action systems
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and experience managing multiple priorities and tasks
  • Practical experience working within quality management systems (ISO 9001)

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be willing to work all shifts, overtime, and weekends, as needed
  • Must be willing to work one of the following shifts upon completion of training:
    • Monday-Friday: 1st shift (8:00am-6:00pm) or 2nd shift (3:00pm-1:00am)
  • Schedule may vary depending on site operational needs and flexibility is required regarding overtime and weekend support
  • Ability to perform job duties that require standing, kneeling, crouching, twisting upper body, and lifting up to 25 lbs. unassisted
  • Must be willing to work onsite in Bastrop, TX – remote work not considered
