Sr. Security Software Engineer (Starlink)

SpaceX is actively developing technologies to make human life on Mars a reality. Leveraging experience in building rockets and spacecraft, SpaceX is deploying Starlink, the world's most advanced broadband internet system. Starlink provides fast, reliable internet to over 6 million users worldwide. As a Security Software Engineer, you will influence the security of software across SpaceX's product lines. You should have a track record of shipping reliable software and a broad understanding of security design, including cryptographic primitives.

Responsibilities include designing and building security infrastructure for Starlink, developing security features for Starlink systems, maintaining production systems, and furthering the mission of providing secure and reliable internet to underserved communities.

Basic qualifications include a bachelor's degree in computer science or another STEM discipline and 5+ years of professional experience in security software development, or 7+ years of experience in lieu of a degree. Preferred skills include experience contributing security improvements to complex systems, working with special purpose security hardware, and navigating large, complex, interactive systems.

Additional requirements include willingness to work extended hours and weekends as needed.
