Fully reusable launch vehicles are the key to seamlessly connecting Earth and space. We are seeking a full-time Heat Treat Technician to join our dynamic team. This role is a blend of furnace operation and additive post-processing tasks centered around metallic additive manufacturing technologies. The Additive Team at Stoke Space makes sure that the infrastructure, materials, tools, and equipment are in place for us to rapidly iterate and print. The best-in-class team is crucial to developing and demonstrating groundbreaking technologies, design, and approaches for Zenith and Andromeda! With an engineering degree or equivalent work experience and technical knowledge, the successful candidate will be instrumental in advancing our in-house production capabilities, ensuring the manufacturability of complex aerospace components, and contributing to our mission. You will work closely with the design, manufacturing, and operations teams through all phases of the product lifecycle. Responsibilities
- Own, maintain, and safely operate world-class vacuum thermal processing equipment to produce complex aerospace components for various engine systems
- Characterize, improve, and document manufacturing processes and the resulting hardware quality
- Load/unload furnaces, monitor temperature controls and timing throughout the heat treatment cycle, and inspect parts before and after
- Perform thermocouple calibrations, and conduct temperature uniformity surveys in compliance with AMS2750 standards
- Prepare and maintain accurate calibration records and documentation, ensuring all data is accurate and up to date
- Continually look for improvement opportunities in all tasks
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions
- Cross train as Additive Tech, working on machines and post-processing printed hardware
Qualifications
- No degree requirements if applicant has relevant background work experience necessary to be successful in the role. Examples of relevant experience include working in the construction trades, CNC machining, aerospace assembly technician, or automotive mechanic roles.
- 3+ years of aerospace thermal processing experience
- Familiar with performing furnace preventative maintenance and calibration
- Comfortable with hands-on machine operation of high value and high consequence equipment.
- Highly organized with the ability to work flexible hours, including second shift and weekends, as needed.
- Proficient communication skills, willingness to work and collaborate with a team to accomplish goals.
- Knowledge of general fabrication methods including CNC milling, turning, EDM, welding, bending, etc.
- Self-starter mindset, maintain focus on the goal and work towards it when input from process experts and leaders is stretched thin.
- Work with high intensity, maintain status tracking, and project execution ownership in an ambitious environment.
- Willing to work on site in Kent, WA

Compensation
Target Levels
- Level 1 Range: $25 - $36.68/hour
- Level 2 Range: $30.58 - $45.87/hour
