Director Of Business Development & Strategy

Job Description

The Director Of Business Development & Strategy will collaborate with the six research area leads for Teledyne Scientific, covering RF (including foundry services), optics, materials, AI & neurotechnology, and battery technologies.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities:

  • Assess technology roadmaps against government R&D priorities to make strategic recommendations and identify business capture opportunities.
  • Incorporate the needs of Teledyne business units (Marine, Battery, Imaging, Defense, Microwave, and Test and Measurement) to maximize the pull-through of R&D efforts into future products.
  • Review the competitive landscape and provide feedback on how to improve the competitive posture.
  • Diversify our customer base by identifying new market opportunities and expanding existing relationships.
  • Proactively shape DARPA opportunities by aligning our technology roadmaps with DARPA's strategic priorities and engaging with DARPA stakeholders.
  • Travel up to 20% to visit Teledyne and customer locations.

  • None

Qualifications & Competencies:

  • Ability to reach a robust technical understanding of the Scientific portfolio.
  • Strong customer relationship creation and maintenance skills.
  • Ability to synthesize and visualize roadmap and market data to create presentations and reports.
  • Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to leverage a world-class technical staff of approximately 200 engineers and scientists to create technology solutions for customers.
  • This role will not have direct reports (no people management).
  • The role will not directly write proposals or white papers but will bring opportunities to the business for action.

Education And Experience:

  • Degree: B.S. or B.A. with ten (10) years of experience in high technology.
  • Preferred Knowledge: Familiarity with more than one of the following technology areas: RF, Optics, Materials, AI & Neurotechnology and battery technologies.

Other Qualifications:

  • U.S. Person: Required for access to ITAR-Controlled Technical Data.
  • Security Clearance: Secret or Top Secret Clearance or the ability to hold such a clearance is desired.

Salary Range:

$177,500.00-$236,600.000
