Production Supervisor

Position Overview

The Production Supervisor leads production teams to ensure smooth, efficient, and quality-driven assembly operations while maintaining safety standards and meeting production goals. This supervisor will interface with all functional departments. The supervisor will ensure that direct reports are cross trained appropriately in skillsets to insure continuous flow of product.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Directs and manages assembly work cells, assign tasks, and daily schedules to meet production deadlines.
  • Monitors production quality by implementing inspection programs and corrective actions to meet customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Enforces health and safety protocols such as OSHA standards and proper PPE to provide a safe work environment.
  • Conducts training for new hires and champions ongoing development to improve team performance and adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Follows production schedules and ensure tasks are completed on time.
  • Requests new tooling, methods, and documentation to improve processes as needed.
  • Prepares and maintains production reports, tracks productivity metrics, and identifies bottlenecks or equipment issues for timely resolution.
  • Consistently monitors manpower requirements and provides necessary justification for approval of requisitions if additional headcount is needed.
  • Works with procurement, logistics, quality control, and maintenance teams to ensure seamless operations and problem resolution.
  • Implements lean manufacturing principles, suggests process improvements to reduce waste, and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Drives documentation changes as required to ensure that processes are current, followed and formally released prior to shipments.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position provides direct supervision to employees in manufacturing.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent GED required. Associate or Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
  • Requires at least 3-5 years of manufacturing environment experience to understand production workflow, machinery, and safety regulations.
  • 1-3 years of supervisory or team lead role experience
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing, 6S, and Kaizen required.
  • Working knowledge of ISO preferred.
  • Experienced with Microsoft Office Suite and ERP/MRP, IFS is preferred.
  • Possess functional knowledge of support department operations (Engineering, Quality, Procurement, etc.).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experienced using manual hydraulic injection molding machines, sandblast machines and a variety of other tools and machines common to the manufacturing industry.
  • Skills to evaluate, coach, train, & motivate personnel.
  • Organizational skills and multi-tasking ability to balance priorities.
  • Understanding of all product documentation required to manufacture the product to specification
  • Due to the nature of the work performed, candidates must possess U.S. citizenship or hold "U.S. Person" status.
