Job Summary: We are currently seeking qualified candidates for an R&D laboratory technician position. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing daily activities to support the R&D Department. Responsibilities include conducting verification testing, assembling associated test fixtures and prototype assemblies, producing documentation such as test plans, procedures and reports. Candidates applying to this position must keep in mind that relocation to San Diego is not authorized. The daily work hours are 8am to 5pm.
Minimum associate's degree in engineering, math, related field of science, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum 3 years of experience in an engineering lab & product development environment.
Have the desire to work in a fast paced and challenging work environment.
Working knowledge of electromechanical components.
Hands-on skills using test equipment and common power tools.
Ability to make sound technical decisions and complete tasks with limited supervision.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Experienced with MS Word, Excel, Outlook and other office productivity software.
This position will involve repetitive work utilizing a computer, keyboard, and mouse 70% of the time.
The position will require frequent sitting, reaching, reading, looking, standing, stooping, bending, pushing, pulling, walking, turning, twisting. The position will require occasional lifting of objects up to 60lbs with assistance.
