About the Job
We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Collection Operations Specialist to join our dynamic team. This entry-level position is ideal for early-career professionals passionate about remote-sensing, satellites, or geographic information systems (GIS). The role involves following defined workflows to task satellites on behalf of our customers, ensuring that their data needs are met with precision and efficiency. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, as you will be dealing with highly technical concepts and need to communicate them clearly and effectively.
As a member of the Collection Optimization team, you'll gain hands-on experience and deep technical knowledge across a range of areas within satellite operations and data analysis. You'll learn about Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) technology, constellation scheduling, and advanced GIS techniques used in satellite tasking. The role also helps develop strong customer service and analytical skills, teaching you how to evaluate system efficiency, document technical processes, and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences. Additionally, you'll strengthen your programming and scripting abilities to automate workflows, and use data platforms to track metrics and support data-driven decision-making. This position offers a unique combination of technical and operational exposure—perfect for someone eager to build a career in the space industry and gain experience in mission scheduling and optimization.
